SUBURB SPOTLIGHT: TITIRANGI

Titirangi is a lovely trendy suburb and an easy 17 kilometre drive from the CBD. It kisses the end of the southern Waitākere Ranges making it a recreational slice of heaven for those who love the outdoors. Titirangi is bordered to the south by the Manukau Harbour, and the native bush has plenty of birds, geckos and rare frogs.

Scenic walks are plentiful so you can get a bit of exercise before heading to work or maybe on the weekends as you wind through the bush experiencing breathtaking views. The coveted Titirangi golf course is a stone’s throw away, wooing residents to come and swing a club. The area is known for its rich culture with a dash of bohemian flair so you will find an active theatre scene, cinema, an internationally recoginised art precinct and community galleries. Over the years, it has also earned a reputation for being a great place to eat out, with a wide choice of eateries and chic cafes moving into the Village. Still the suburb has retained a laid-back vibe perfect for families and professionals.

Titirangi is a sensible choice to buy a multi-bedroom home. Since 2016, home prices have averaged well under the million dollar mark. Families have obviously found these numbers appealing as 51% of homes have children. Young and vibrant aptly describe residents. In fact, 70% of the population in this suburb are under the age of 49.

The schools are excellent and the local Titirangi School primary has a decile rating of 10. The nearest state secondary schools are Green Bay High School, Kelston Boys' High School and Kelston Girls' High School all of which are well respected. The quaint village centre brings the tight-knit community together and it is always bustling with activity.

For those not ready to buy but wanting to call Titirangi home, you will be delighted by the rental rates. They fall under the Auckland average and large homes are surprisingly affordable without having to compromise on area amenities.

You can’t beat Titirangi for convenience as it ticks all the boxes for everything you need day-to-day. Doctors, dentists, superette, a wine shop, tasty takeaways places, yoga studios, a post office, petrol stations and more mean that you never have to wander far for life’s basics. When you combine the unique homes available here with access to the regional crown jewel that is the Waitākere Ranges Regional Park you have property perfection.
